This week's Follow Friday question:
What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?
Hmm... I'm not sure I have ever done anything particularly crazy to get my hands on a book! I mean, I was definitely one of those crazy HP fans who ran to the store at midnight to get the latest one but I wouldn't really consider that crazy because... Harry Potter is awesome, duh!
I will confess though-- when I was in 4th grade I read this book that I absolutely fell in love with, called Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman, and... I sort of on purpose never returned it to my classroom. AND I still have it and it has the name of my 4th grade teacher on the spine! Sorry Mrs. Barnhardt! I won't ever be this horrible to get a book again haha...
And what about you? Leave me a link below, I would love to hear what your answer is!!
Bahaha Too funny! I really liked this book in school too. Here is my FF:

Hopping through. I've never purposely kept a book but out of laziness, I've failed to return several things I've borrowed from friends. I've been better about it lately.

Haha, I don't consider queuing for Harry Potter craziness at all. :P I think I have been guilty of 'forgetting' to return borrowed books, too. :D

Hhahaha at least it has a good home now! I feel like if you left it, it would be treated badly by the other fourth graders, so I'd say it's okay :) Thanks so much for stopping by my FF! I'm an old follower and I completely adore your blog :)

I love that story! :) When I was in third grade, I was in a group of five students who read more advanced books than the rest of the grade. We read 'Sign of the Beaver' and everyone else was reading 'Phantom Tolbooth.' I remember being so mad because I wanted to read it too! :) I've still never read it and this is 14 years later...Thanks for following, I'm following back!
ReplyDeletelol, I'm happy to hear that you still have the book!
ReplyDeleteI've kept several books from the library for close to a year, and then I returned them, having to pay the max fees and, because I felt guilty, I also donated a few of my own, lol!
Thanks for the follow, I'm following back :)

ReplyDeleteI’m SO jealous of your blog theme!
I know this is old- but I read that book in 4th grade too (although not part of class) and I loved it! I remember there is at least one book I borrowed from the class library (in 5th grade there was a shelf we had in our classroom itself that we could check out like a library system, besides the actual library) and I took it home, read it , and just forgot to bring it in. Mine too still has the name of the teacher inside - Mrs. Wizneski LOL I can't remember what the book was called though.. something about a castle.. like Capture the Castle or something.. ( just spent half an hour or so googling Castle books because it was driving me nuts LOL) it was The Castle in the Attic! :D (I also found some other books that looked good and ended up adding them to my wish list.. 0_0 ) LOL ok now I've left this long rambling comment on an old post.. :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! I'll probably end up stopping by again this weekend if you have a FF post LOL
