~About Michelle~

Michelle Madow was inspired to write Remembrance after seeing Taylor Swift's "Love Story" music video while a junior at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. The song and video gave her the idea about a high school girl reincarnated from Regency Era, England. She handed in the first chapter as a homework assignment for class, and when her teacher and classmates wanted her to continue writing, she decided to go for it. By the end of the school year, her first novel was
completed!

Along with the Transcend Time Saga, Michelle Madow has written two other young adult novels, both which will be developed into series.

Michelle Madow graduated from the Park School of Baltimore in 2005, where she always took two English classes each semester. She graduated from Rollins College in 2010, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English. At Rollins she was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and a member of the International English Honor Society Sigma Tau Delta.

She received the Charles Hyde Pratt Award for Excellence in Creative Writing in 2010.

For more information on Michelle and her books, please visit www.michellemadow.com.

Michelle lives in Florida, where she is hard at work writing more novels for young adults. She is represented by literary agent Molly Ker Hawn at The Bent Agency.

Summary: Eva and Addie started out the same way as everyone else—two souls woven together in one body, taking turns controlling their movements as they learned how to walk, how to sing, how to dance. But as they grew, so did the worried whispers. Why aren’t they settling? Why isn’t one of them fading? The doctors ran tests, the neighbors shied away, and their parents begged for more time. Finally Addie was pronounced healthy and Eva was declared gone. Except, she wasn’t…

For the past three years, Eva has clung to the remnants of her life. Only Addie knows she’s still there, trapped inside their body. Then one day, they discover there may be a way for Eva to move again. Cover Reveal & Giveaway! The Violet Fox

Hello lovely readers of mine! Today I am really excited to be participating in the cover reveal of a new YA Fantasy book called The Violet Fox. It is written by Clare C. Marshall who is an Indie author, and this is her second book. I was really intrigued to find out more about Clare and her writing after checking out her first book, a supernatural story called Within-- which also happens to have a very lovely cover...

Amazon
Amazon Kindle
Goodreads

Summary: Trinity Hartell’s life changed after the accident. Left with irreversible brain damage, she becomes a burden to her mother, a cause for heartbreak for her boyfriend Zack, and a flattened obstacle for her best friend, Ellie.

But then she starts writing. Perhaps it’s a coincidence that the psychotic, murdering protagonist of her novel bears a striking similarity to the charming Wiley Dalton, a mayoral candidate in the upcoming election.

Or, perhaps not...

So when Clare asked if I'd like to participate in the cover reveal for her latest Fantasy book, I was totally psyched! AND to make things even better, she is also having a Giveaway for 2 e-copies of The Violet Fox, which you can check out below!! But first...

~Cover Reveal for The Violet Fox~

Author: Clare C. Marshall
Publisher: Faery Ink Press (http://www.faeryinkpress.com)
Release date: October 13, 2012
Genre: YA Fantasy
Formats: Paperback, eBook
Summary: There are two kinds of people in the land of Marlenia.

The Marlenians, who live on the surface, and the Freetors, who are forced to live underground.

The war between them ended two hundred years ago, but the Freetors still fight for the right to live under the sun. Fifteen-year-old Kiera Driscoll embodies the Freetors' hopes as the Violet Fox. In a violet cape and mask, she sneaks around Marlenia City stealing food and freeing her people from slavery.

Then the Elders task her with a secret mission: retrieve a stolen tome that contains the secrets of Freetor magic, something the Marlenians both fear and covet. Kiera must disguise herself as a noblewoman and infiltrate the Marlenian castle.

Before the Freetor-hating Advisor finds out her real identity.

Before her brother is imprisoned because of the secrets he hides.

And before she falls any more in love with the prince she's supposed to hate.

More is happening in the castle than she realizes, and Kiera is faced with a difficult choice. Will she be loyal to her people and their fight for freedom, or will she be loyal to her heart?

OK, so first of all, this story sounds flipping AWESOME! You guys know that I am a HUGE High-Fantasy fan and this definitely sounds like the kind of book that I would love to check out. And the cover is SO gorgeous-- I really love the colors and how it looks like it's on old parchment, along with the runes that surround the picture of Kiera in the center. Oh, and the title font is freaking amazing-- I am a huge fan of cool fonts haha. Altogether, it is really beautiful! What do you guys think?

Fun facts:
Here are some interesting things behind Clare's latest cover and the book...

-As always, my covers are designed by my boyfriend, Dave.
-The runes along the outside are made from scratch. There are 26 of them. One for each letter of the alphabet. They represent a secret code that the protagonist, Kiera, and her people can read.
-The working title for the book was FREETOR, a combination of “freedom” and “fighter”.
-This is the first book in a series, but it was originally intended to be a one-off book. The world and the characters kind of ran away with me. However, this book can be read as a stand alone.

Summer Lovin' Book Tour Giveaway and Guest Post!

Hello my lovelies!! So today as part of the Summer Lovin' Book Tour, I have two AWESOME things going on:

1.) A fabulous GUEST POST with the wonderful author, Karen Schreck

2.) A flipping sweet GIVEAWAY for a copy of her latest YA novel, While He Was Away**

**NOTE: If you haven't heard of this one, be sure to add it to your TBR lists-- because it was freaking amazing!!

So first thing is first-- here is my guest post with Karen Schreck, where she talks about her love for YA and why it rocks her world!  :)

Why YA Rocks My World

YA is hot.

As in steamy, sultry, blazing, scathing, illuminating, fiery, incendiary, spicy, enlightening, searing, scorching. A wildfire. A prairie burn. An inferno of characters, settings, plots. A refiner’s fire that draws out pure gold.

YA can also be cold.

As in chill, bitter, harsh, blustery, caustic, shivery, biting, hard-edged, cool. A frigid wind that dips below zero. A blizzardy drift of ideas and images. One snowflake never like the next. And once all hell freezes over, than YA can be the sharp-edged ax that breaks through the ice of your soul. YA lit—good YA lit—is never, ever lukewarm. Not in terms of content—the fearless stories told, the layers of meaning revealed.

Not in terms of character—these people live on the pages, and like most adolescents (or the adolescent in all of us, who lives on and on and on) their motivation frequently cuts to the quick: they are desperately trying to figure out just who in God’s name they are.

And YA lit is never, ever lukewarm or tepid in terms of voice—which is so driven by character, setting, and plot, and which defines each YA novel—that distinct, one-of-a-kind voice that speaks a book into existence, that prods and goads and compels a writer—me—to tell the story. This is just a little bit of why YA rocks my world—why I love writing and reading books for teens. Or, supposedly for teens, since most street smart and literary savvy adults worth their salt know that Young Adult Fiction is among the best literature out and about today.

And let me tell you guys, not only does Karen love YA, but she is incredibly talented at writing it too! You probably know I'm not exactly easy to please sometimes when it comes to my books, but I absolutely adored While He Was Away. And it definitely had a lot to do with "the voice" of Karen's main character Penna, and everything that she goes through to discover who she is. Seriously, it was an amazing read and I highly recommend it.

So without further ado, it is....

~Giveaway Time!~

OK so as part of the Tour, I'm hosting an awesome giveaway sponsored by Sourcebooks Fire for a copy of Karen's newest YA novel, While He Was Away. It is a perfect pick for your summer reading lists! You can also click on the cover image for more details from Goodreads :)
