In My Mailbox (3)

Photobucket

Hellooo everyone!! In My Mailbox is a weekly book meme from Kristi over at The Story Siren, where we get to share the books that we have gotten over the week, either from the bookstore, the library, or were lucky enough to win/receive from other bloggers, authors or publishers.

Not going to lie, I am still working though an enormous pile of books that I've had sitting under my kitchen table for like a month now-- but I did get a few new ones from the library AND I was very lucky to win my very FIRST ARC (**excited!**) from Jessica over at ::Musings + Teen Librarian:: So now I have experienced that warm and fuzzy feeling of finding a book-shaped package by my mailbox (technically not IN it because it's too small) and I have to say, I want to win more books now ;)

From the Library

The Breakup Bible by Melissa Kantor
Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz
The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting

Won!

Popular by Alissa Grosso

Note: If you click on the top picture with the three library books, it turns out huge (a bigger image just wouldn't fit on my blog), and then the titles in pink will take you to Goodreads reviews. I chose The Breakup Bible and Blue Bloods, first because they both sounded really good, but also because Melissa Kantor and Melissa de la Cruz are going to be at a Teen Book Festival I am going to next weekend (yay!) And then I have heard some really good things about The Body Finder as well, so looking forward to getting into that eventually!!

If you guys have either read or heard anything about these books, please let me know what you thought or if you would read these-- also curious about what everyone else is getting in their mailboxes this week-- let me know!

Happy reading :)

  6. I've considered picking up Blue Bloods at the used bookstore but I saw it was marked as not worth finishing in a few reviews on goodreads but then I also see it as 4 stars...so you will def have to share what you think :)

    Thanks for stopping by :)

  7. I've been meaning to read The Body Finder for a long time now. Popular is on my TBR list as well. Congratulations on the win!

Thanks for stopping by and following. I'm following you now too! I also started following your library blog as well. I'm not actually a librarian, but that is sort of my goal.

    Enjoy your books!

  10. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following - I'm now a new follower of yours! I LOVE your blog!

The Body Finder has been on my wish list for a long time, it looks so good. Congratz on your first ARC! I haven't gotten a paper/hardback ARC yet (well, I did but it was from a blogger conference, so it didn't really count..does it? LOL) I don't know. But I love netgalley so much, if it was for that site I would be deprived of reading pre-releases :)

I will be popping in and following on twitter too! We're both so close to 200 followers, almost exactly!

  17. Hi there everyone! Here is where I respond to all of your much-appreciated comments :) If your name isn't below, it's because I went to your blog directly to comment back!

NoraBell~ Thanks so much for stopping by, as well :) Libraries are where it's at lol :D Enjoy your IMM books this week!

Darkfallen~ Thank you for following, I greatly appreciate it, and I am so happy you like my blog! Yeah, sometimes it is difficult to get into series because you know they're gonna take awhile to get through- I tend to read the first book of a series and then I don't pick up the next one for like a month. Oops!

Leila~ Yes, isn't it interesting when you have a book/series that got both amazing and crappy reviews? I guess it's just luck of the draw whether or not you will like it! But then, some books I have loved while others thought they were terrible, or it's the other way around. SO I'll give the first one a chance and see what happens :)

Cassandra~ Omg that is so awesome that you want to become a librarian! Thanks for following both my blogs, I hope that you enjoy them and that they are helpful to you as you work towards your career, I always love meeting both librarians and those who are interested in becoming one-- I think you would really like the work, it is both fun and rewarding :)

Grace~ Thanks for following! Because I only review YA, it is nice to follow some blogs that step outside that genre, so I look forward to reading your reviews. Eventually I hope to get into more adult-level books (I LOVE The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trilogy!!)

Chels~ Thanks for the follow! And for letting me know about Blue Bloods, I've heard mixed reviews for it, but I'm going to give it a try and see if I like it :) Have a great week!

Firefly~ Yea for almost 200 followers!! Haha, very exciting :) Yes, I need to start using NetGalley, I signed up a few days ago but haven't really done anything with it yet, although I hear it is a great resource for book bloggers. SO glad you like my blog, I appreciate your wonderful compliments :)

Shoshanah~ I love hearing about new books/seeing beautiful book covers that I never stumbled on before-- I work at a library, but actually blogging has given me more of a chance to explore the YA world! I find new things here, and then try to hunt down everything I can at one of the branches I work at :) Happy reading!

Camille~ Thank you for becoming a new follower! I'm happy to hear that you also liked The Body Finder, I will have to read that one soon :)

Ange~ Wow, everyone has either read or is dying to read The Body Finder, maybe that will be next on the list?? Thanks for visiting me, and have an awesome week!

Baggins~ Oh yeah, ARCs I am sure get pretty addicting, I know I was so excited when I received my first in my mailbox, now I need to figure out how to get more :D Thanks for following me back, I look forward to reading your reviews!

LibrarySnake (Valentina)~ Hehe I like your username! Thanks for following! Also, I just read your Musing Monday post for this week, and loved how you said "My life seems to be a patchwork of book scenes with the occasional splash of reality." It made me smile :)

Rabiah~ Thanks for commenting on the books I got for this week, and for following me :) And yes, I really want to get into Popular soon, too! Have a great week :)

  18. I just finished Blue Bloods last week and The Body Finder has been on my TBR list for far too long! I've seen so many good reviews on it!

Here's my IMM post. Better late than never lol.

  19. Lindsay~ Starcrossed, The Goddess Test, and The Girl in the Steel Corset all sound really good-- hope you enjoy them! That last one I am especially interested in, since I have never read a "steampunk" kind of book, I will have to check that one out!
