This week's Waiting on Wednesday pick is...
Title: The Treachery of Beautiful Things
Author: Ruth Frances Long
Publisher: Penguin
Release Date: August 16, 2012
Pages: 300
Summary: The trees swallowed her brother whole. And Jenny was there to see it. Years later, when she returns to the woods where Tom was taken to say good-bye at last, she finds herself lured into a world where stunning beauty masks the most treacherous of evils, and strange and dangerous creatures await—creatures who seem to consider her the threat. Among them is Jack, mercurial and magnetic, with allegiances that shift as much as his moods. Determined to find her brother, with or without Jack’s help, Jenny struggles to navigate a faerie world where nothing is what it seems, no one is who they say, and she’s faced with a choice between salvation or sacrifice—and not just her own.
Why I'm Waiting:
Well, first let me just state the obvious by saying-- look at that COVER!! I don't think I've stopped drooling over this thing since I first saw it to be quite honest. And then there's the story synopsis, which sounds so mysterious and intriguing. What happened to Tom? The trees swallowed him?? C'mon now, that's super creepy! I definitely added this book to my TBR list promptly after I saw it about a week ago, and I am so looking forward to getting my hands on it!
What is everyone else waiting on this week??

Sounds fantastic! I have not read any faerie books to date. I know, I am soooo far behind. But I really love my dystopian and urban fantasy. And the cover is GORGEOUS!! Just an observation; she is not blond. It seems to be a lot of cover characters are blond.
ReplyDeleteAnywho, great pick and thanks for the visit!
(sorry for the mini rant. I got a little carried away. (: )
The cover lends an air of mystery to the whole plot. I especially like the flowers. Great pick! ;)
