This week I worked on the finishing touches to my blog makeover, and also finished reading and reviewing Entwined by Heather Dixon (so cute!) and Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, which was totally awesome!

In other exciting news, I am planning a big celebration giveaway for when I reach the 500 follower mark, so be sure to keep your eyes out for that! Who knows? It might start this weekend ;)

This week's Follow Friday question:

What do I do when I am not reading?

When I'm not reading (or blogging) I'm usually at work! I'm a librarian, and I work part-time at both an academic (college) library and as a substitute at the city branch public libraries, so I am all over the place. For the most part I really like my job(s) and since I want to one day become a full-time YA/Teen Librarian, this blog is not only a hobby, it's sort of helping me towards my career goals too! :) So that's pretty awesome.

A specific example of what I do when I'm not reading/blogging: I'm staying up until 3:30AM to go see the opening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2!!! Haha, which is why I wasn't able to post my FF question until now at 10:30 in the morning, because I JUST woke up. But that's a totally legit reason, I think, because the movie was AWESOME. Like, holy crap, just AWESOME! I'm not going to give anything away to those who haven't seen it yet, but let me just say: 1.) I cried A LOT, and 2.) Professor McGonagall was such a badass! (Favorite line: "I've always wanted to use that spell" LOVE it!!!) So anyways, sorry for the late posting but I am dead-tired today... I am really sad that the Harry Potter phenomenon is officially over and done with, but I am planning on checking out this whole "Pottermore" online experience in September-- I don't really understand what it is besides an interactive reading experience, but it might be cool!

So Happy Friday everyone! I'm guessing there's quite a few other fellow HP fans out there who are zombies today! ;)

Leave me a comment and I will get back to you...

  4. Thanks for stopping by again. I almost landed a great job helping out my college library but they said something about my grant not allowing for that work study.

I bet you have a blast. I think as long as we all are around books, no one has to place us in institutions yet.^^

I really love your follow me friday personal header too, what a neat idea.

  7. I totally agree with you about Harry Potter! I saw it last night as well, but still had to come into work at 8 in the morning (yay 3 hours of sleep). The McGonagall line you mentioned and Molly's "Not my daughter you B****" were amazing!!!

Thank you for the add, btw. I'm a new follower of yours as well. Also, I want to be a librarian so bad >_<

  8. I was hoping Pottermore would be something like a cross between Warcraft and Star Trek Online where you had to guide your character from his First Year through the ranks of the Wizarding World as an employee. I was disappointed but still excited! New follower, and happy Friday!

  9. I need to see the HP movies. All of them. I think I saw like half of one a few years back. Maybe I shouldn't admit that?

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Old follower here. =) I'm going to grab one of your buttons, I just can't decide which one. They are all so pretty. Plus I want to learn how to make one of those bloggy rolling things. I'm feeling ambitious today.

  13. To be honest, I get embarrassed of my name, so I tried to change it to a pen name, but I ended up going back to using my nickname! I'm so glad to hear someone other than family likes my name though, thank you!

And you too, have a great weekend!

  16. Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog!

I just saw Harry a few hours ago ... I cried too. I keep on thinking I should do a post just on Harry Potter ending, but I think I might start crying again! My fave part was Mrs. Weasley: "Not my daughter, you bitch!" Totally made my day!

  17. Thanks for stopping by Ashley Suzanne. I am now returning the follower :]

  18. Oh goodness, Harry. I saw the midnight screening, and took my mum to see it again the next day, and will be seeing it again in a few days.
As soon as I saw Lupin and Tonks on the floor the tears started. I cried my way through the Snape and Lily scene. "Always."

One thing its made me realise is that I haven't read the books in such a long time, I haven't read Deathly Hallows since it came out!

PS - McGonagall was totally awesome!

  19. Hopping through. Just got back from HP! Totally agree with you on McGonagall. And Snape was fabulous.
