  7. The Summer My Life Began sounds like a great, fun read! I've been reading a lot of contemporary YA lately, and this sounds perfect for the summer. Happy reading! :)

  8. You thought it was an amoeba? An amoeba? Bwahahahahahaha, LOL...jk. That is a very deceiving cover. I hope you enjoy Across the Universe. I loved it. It took a bit for me to get hooked, so just be patient with it.

Your idea of reading mostly contemporary fun reads sounds like a great idea for summer. I'm getting a little sick of the paranormals myself.

  25. Tiger's Curse is utterly fabulous, though it's definitely not 'summery contemporary YA'. ;) It was my December "Book of the Month" pick. I loved it.

I have Across the Universe on my shelf and need to get to it once my friend Kate is done reading it. (Hurry up! *laughs*).

I'm about half way through Unearthly and need to finish it. I had issues with it at the beginning, but it really picked up and sucked me in and only the fact that I've been editing my own novel has kept me from getting back to it.

As for Twenty Boy Summer I *really* need to read that, because I've *wanted* to read it for ages. Gah! I saw it yesterday, too. Why didn't I buy it? *shakes head*

Anyway, enjoy all the great books. I hope next week is just as fun for you. :) Thanks for visiting my blog.

  37. I adore library books :) I just snagged THE FALSE PRINCE and TRAITOR'S SON last week :) I've been wanting to read THE ACADEMIE as well! I didn't realize it was historical! Have you read anything by Jessica Brody? I like her for light contemporary! I liked PAST PERFECT last year by Leila Sales as well for that sort of genre! I'm sure your co-workers are used to you, lol. They're used to me! Oh, I've been wanting to read Sarah Ockler as well! IMAGINARY GIRLS is contemporary, but it's a little...I don't know if I'd call it paranormal, but..I don't know what I'd call it. It was def. a favorite cover of mine last year! I was borderline with it, but I think I had super high expectations. Can't wait to hear your thoughts! I'm like you. Even if reviews are mixed, if I want to read it or was looking fw to it, I still will. Like THE PLEDGE by Kimberly Derting! A lot of people didn't like it a lot, but it's also *fantasy* dystopian with kings and queens and stuff, so a lot of people don't like that genre in their dystopian, but I like it a lot! Oh, ATU! I still need to read the second book! I still have to read my copy of WHEN THE SEA IS RISING RED, eep! And the second...and third...Estep.... It is a mythology book, yes. But not a retelling of anything! UNEARTHLY, ahh!! I cannot WAIT to hear your thoughts! So so so good. I'm like you. I'm not a fan of angel books, but UNEARTHLY was so good! I love that your library has HALF-BLOOD and that you had it ordered in. It's SUCH a good book and I can't wait to hear your thoughts!! (Speaking of cover love, did you see that I did an interview with the cover designer Kate Kaynak for the tour this past month? So much fun! :) )
